Hi Conscious artistry members, I've posted one of my first paintings as an introduction to me and my work. I hope to get feedback as I'd love to get some input. Constructive criticism and critique are welcome!
I love your use of color. The more I focus the more I see and feel! I appreciate you're posting to share. Your painting is lovely (((((Light))))) vibration.
Hi, Thanks for commenting. I'm still finding my way around this site, so bear with me if you receive more than one message. I'm glad that my painting evoked emotion in you and have posted another for your viewing pleasure (yes, I'm a bit of a smart ass!).

I love the colour, life and vibrancy of your painting, to me the black represented the bad patches we all have in the journey through life.
May I ask what you were feeling when you painted this.
Elli.
Hi Elli, I'm glad that you like my painting and hope that you'll check out the other images I've posted on my profile.
I was feeling pretty upbeat when I started this. As I applied the paint and moved it around, an image started to surface which reminded me of a particular experience. When I lived in Ottawa, I used to cycle to the farmers' market every Saturday for my veggies and flowers. One day, it started to pour as soon as I arrived, so I went into a restaurant and was watching the outside scene from my table. The rain was so heavy that all the people and colours were blurry. The black vertical strokes look, to me, like the old-fashioned street lights in the market.
i like this painting....i think i would love it without the dark colors repeated through it. it feels kinda like an afterthought to break up the overall quality of the colors on the surface spread throughout. i look at this piece and see it as the beginning for bigger and riskier paintings using the same techniques. yes i love the colors, but the disruption to the painting via the darker verticals feels more like slicing along the surface of an orange's skin with a butter knife rather than stabbing into it with a steak knife. these are my personal thoughts on this piece and i look forward to seeing more......go out on that plank Elinor....take the plunge. peace. kevin
Hi Kevin, I really appreciate you taking the time to think about what you see and provide meaningful critique. The vertical purple strokes were added at the end, as I was reminded of a rainy scene in Ottawa's Byward market. I love the way you choose to express yourself. Your imagery captures my imagination and I'll remember your words when I'm painting. I painted a series of small abstracts to teach myself how to handle the tools and paints to achieve certain effects. Now I'm enjoying the challenge of painting representationally.......what a learning experience!! I've posted a few more images on my profile, but think they're in the wrong place to attract critique.
I enjoyed the strips of black because that is what really stands out to me the 2nd time I looked at it. The second one from the left, reminds me of a native american warrior and the middle one reminds me of the tarot card, the three of swords. It has a heart with three swords piercing through the heart. For me the black lines are the forefront of the picture and the background I need to look at longer but feels like a backdrop. It is definitely a feeling of light vs. dark, for me.
Hello,
the painting is nice..i like the pink with the orange color...it rarely use together in paintings.
The black forms are like people..very skinny and tall, some are couple dancing...in the street
on a sunset. I like the energy that emerge from the painting.
Usally in a painting there always a focal point...a mass that emerge..attrac the eyes..first,
here we dont see one...maybe in the futur you can try..to have one..see how you feel about that.
Art from the heart......is usally done differently from art that come from schools.
Keep painting that the most important things..;-)It makes us happy and i am sure you!
Hi Arseno, Thanks for your comments. I've learned a lot since I painted this litle piece and have even sold 2 of my paintings. My first sale was the first painting I completed. I haven't been online very much.......either sick or painting, but will post some images of my more recent work. Elinor

In each of us lies the brilliance of fresh morningdew,
shined upon by glorious sunrays.
In each of us lies a promise,
like a rosebud waiting to bring forth a beautifull flower.
In each of us lies an inmeasurable kindness,
