That's what I did, Ryan; though for me the book kinda wrote itself. The words just flowed out of my mind and my heart. In doing so I learnt so much about me and about mankind in general. From first looking for a publisher to receiving the contract took three weeks! Unheard of, but I guess I am one of the lucky ones. Released in September last year I hope it does well. Good luck with your book.

After university I got my dream job, working with horses. All was going well until December 1994 when my life changed forever. Crossing the road on the way to work, I was hit by a car... I 'died'! Since being hit by that car I went through a period of great change and learnt many things; I had experiences I did not understand and saw things mankind maybe should not see. I started writing these things down. I will never preach to anyone, but what started as an autobiography about my life, my death and my resurrection has evolved into a truly inspirational book, designed to motivate readers to better themselves and help others.

Flight of a Lifetime (see http://www.facebook.com/pages/Flight-of-a-Lifetime/7620224075?ref=ts) is a very good read; it will make the reader laugh and cry at the same time. In spite of its theme, it is not a miserable book - I wrote about my death and made it funny!

I urge you to read the book and be inspired; better yourself and think about how your actions affect the world. It will cheer you up and, though it may not change the world, it may make people's perception of the world change. If enough people read it we may all end up getting along and stop fighting - a book to end all wars?

It's 2009. I thought I should say something. I wrote my first book, "Blessings in Disguise," as a greenhorn to the writing, publishing world. I did like to read, however, and I thought I could do as good or better than most. You know how easy it looks when someone else does it? I did get hooked on writing though and am 47 pages into my new book, "Be Happy, for no Apparent Reason." If you've ever thought about writing, don't wait, do it now! Just start. You will learn more about yourself than you would believe.

Hi, Kathy! With the advent of self-publishing, and the twin foci for so many readers these days on nonfiction and inspirational writing, it really seems to me you should just start putting your story on paper and see what shape it begins to make. This was essentially what I did with Conscious Healing, which has met with a great deal of success. Certainly, narratively speaking, your story would make for a riveting tale ... Thanks for sharing!

I have a question for all of you. I have been guided, not only from the people around me, but from the etheric, to write about my life experiences of losing a child to crib death, my daughter and my husband to homicide, and curing myself of a catastrophic illness. I have recovered from it all beautifully by using the principles from a Course in Miracles and Positive Intentions. I am somewhat of a writer, I do have a way with words, and a gift for writing, but I have had little training and very little experience in actually writing for publication. I am feeling a time crunch as well, I have so much to do, and it seems like such a major project I don't know how I can possibly get it done. But the nagging little voice keeps saying you need to do this because it will be of great help to those who have gone through similar experiences. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I would start and how I would go about this? I really would appreciate any and all input. Thank you, Kathy
