First painting

This is the first piece I painted. It's acrylic on canvas.

Hi Kallisto, Thanks for your kind comment. I intended to post images of all my work, but have been dealing with some health concerns lately that have kept me from even being able to paint. My first representational piece is sitting on my easel, calling me, but will have to wait until i can paint without so much pain. Even sitting at the computer is difficult, but i hope to be better soon and able to resume painting and posting. Thanks again.......Elinor

I did check out your first painting - it is gorgeous....the play of tones like mauves, purples giving way to blue and then contrasting it with a splash of maroon/red towards the bottom was fantastic. The feel is upbeat and cheerful, without being jarring to the eyes. I quite liked the choice of colors and tones to make the painting jump out at the onlooker. I am fascinated with water bodies like the ocean and the color blue holds a special place in my mind. So I really took to your painting.

Hi Sheetal, Thanks for your comments. I read in your profile about your affinity for water. You will possibly also like some of my other work for the same reasons. There are many interpretations for my pieces. It seems that each person finds his or her own interpretations and sees the images that are already in their subconcious minds, so you'll probably see water in each of my abstracts. I've taken them to be mounted and hope to sell some of my work. I'll post images before they leave me, though. The injury to my back is still making sitting painful so it may be a while before I'm able to be online long enough to upload many images. I'll add some now, though. Thanks again, Sheetal.
