Share 'Self Publishing vs. Traditional'

Hello, I am working on my first novel, and I'm wondering about how to go about getting it published. How do I find a publisher? I've heard that some people have self published... do the books get similar exposure as a traditional publishing? If anyone has information for me, I would so greatly appreciate it! Thank you!
