- My conscious art is my poetry, drawing, painting and sculpture but slightly subconscious in that it comes from somewhere I have not been yet, or maybe somewhere I always was, but could never remember. Yet there it appears in pen on paper, in paint on canvas, in graphite on sketch, and in clay or found materials and objects. It's finding something within you can't quite explain, asking your audience to give it a name, but years later, a passage you read, another artist's work you see, a baby smiles and you finally understand what came from your own hands, from your own mind, from your own spirit, from your own source, and you feel liberation and you acquire consciousness from your art.

- M.C. Escher, b/c people are just now talking about the Ouroboros of the ascending/descending spiralling universe and he was playing field hocky with it on paper while we were in pampers. I have to add he must have had a connection to spirit to have seen reality so well as to notice the truth under it, playing with our sense of direction, proportions, hidden doors, unwinding faces, and staircases where lizards lead you to the unknown. I love it!
