How many authors do you know that would enter a contest for book exposure? I know that I've known a few. The idea is a great one because it gives the author a chance to get discovered by readers and publishers that may not have ever seen their work otherwise. Some people like the money and prizes that contests offer, and that's all good too.

Personally, I don't like contests. I don't win them unless it's for something I can't use. I remember winning free music downloads when I didn't own a computer-- not having one can really put a damper on that prize. This is why I usually don't bother...until now.
